Instagram

Following on from my use of an iPhone for video. I have also been using it for many quick snap shots. I use an app called Instagram which is a social photography app, after you take a photo there are many preset filters to give it a different and interesting look. The photos can then be liked/commented on in the usual way by the people who "follow" you.

Its very quick and easy and for this reason I've found myself using it quite a bit and getting some rather good results. Here are some of my favourite images from the past month or two. You will notice that all the images are square in format and have had different filters applied. I have never taken great care in which filters I have used, I simply decide which looks best at first glance. The phone saves the original images so I can always fall back on that at a later date if I need to.

  1. Hi red,
Hope you are well, some really interesting and creative images here, well done. The images you have taken are random to say the least, maybe you can become a little more themed in your approach and produce a series of images.
The time spent in preparing a theme will pay off just as it did for you with the goalposts project, but one theme can lead to another, ie the goalposts could lead to project on sport and all it's variety.
The abstract black and white is worth exploring further so maybe do a series of 20 images on that area alone using the same phone and technique in preparation for an exhibition for example.
Keep in touch as well please, plus add more stuff to your Edmodo account please and keep in touch with all the others.

    Steve
